For not able to find the most suitable words to express my gratitude to my readers, especially to parents and guardians. The response to my books of the MLD series has been overwhelmingly positive and has motivated me to continue with the series. I am doing my best to meet your expectations. Thank you for choosing this book. It shows that you, as parents and guardians, are also dedicated to teaching moral values to your children.

The “Moral Land of Duggu” series results from a father’s (and author’s) efforts to lay a strong foundation of morals and ethics in his children. I believe every child is precious and inherently good, and in their early years, children are full of questions and have boundless curiosity and imagination. As they grow, their curiosity only increases, and they want to learn about everything they encounter in their daily lives. At this stage, they need to have the ability to distinguish between what is acceptable and what is not, what is adaptable and what is not, What is wrong and what is right. With the inundated information and views, they must develop the utmost ethical understanding of all these questions. This MLD series is an honest effort by a father (less author) so that kids can learn and get answers to these questions through scientific and novel ways of storytelling and reading.

MLD doesn’t comprise fairy tales or jungle stories. The stories here are based on real-life events. These stories are based on what your child observes in day-to-day life and how they can learn from them. They are designed to teach children about the world around them and how to make good decisions. I hope these stories will help children understand the difference between right and wrong and develop good judgment. They will also help to strengthen the bond between parents and children and bridge the gap between generations.

MLD Series of 10 books are a collection of stories about a young, simple boy named Duggu, who is not a superhero. He lives in the Jaina Society and studies at the Rayan International School in Bengaluru. A few years back, he moved to Bengaluru and joined this school. His father, Vaibhav Jain, works in the international marketing of a multinational pharmaceutical company, and his mother, Vani Jain, is a dedicated homemaker and painter. Duggu cherishes every moment of his life and shares them with his loved ones. He is idealistic and attempts to impart life-changing messages through his actions, but he is also mischievous enough to sometimes cause frustration or anger among those around him. Duggu lives with his family, including his father, mother, and younger brother, Aadi. His grandfather, a retired member of the Army, and his grandmother live in Delhi with his uncle and often visit him in Bengaluru. A fun-loving kid, Duggu loves to add joy to the lives of others through his clever but mischievous antics. He is loved by his family, his community, his friends, and his teachers. Duggu’s daily adventures are full of fun and colour, but they always end with meaningful messages. His strong moral foundation, instilled by his grandparents, helps him stand up against wrong and injustice. He is indeed an adorable and exceptional boy with high discipline. Fun-loving and always ready to spread cheer with his contagious smile, Duggu is brave enough to stand up against injustice and is a natural leader who cares deeply for his friends and family. He is a skilled orator who can inspire others even in difficult circumstances.

This book is a collection of some moral stories about Duggu based on every young boy’s daily life. These stories are easy for children to relate to through real-life examples and episodes. While Duggu never preaches, he conveys the message of how to live a moral life through his actions, which is something we can all learn from. As a caring father, I strongly believe that instilling moral values in growing children is paramount, and I aim to do so through these stories.
